Day 1Saigon - My Tho - Cai Be - Vinh Long
Our trip will start at 8:00 and move to the heart of the Mekong Delta. On arrival, embark on board L'AMANT and enjoy a delectable lunch and get acquainted with the crew, while the vessel starts its way to Vinh Long. In the early afternoon, embark on a local sampan boat to sail through Cai Be. In Cai Be, we will enjoy the business of floating market and taking the rowing boat, journey through the numerous arroyos and be captivated by the serenity of the Mekong Delta. We then visit an ancient colonial house and a rice popcorn factory and taste the local specialities. After visiting time, we return on board L'AMANT and depart to Vinh Long while watching the sunset from sundeck. Early evening, the boat will anchor near Vinh Long (after My Thuan Bridge) for overnight. You are served dinner on board followed by the projection og film "L'AMANT" or "Indochine". We will overnight on board of L'AMANT.
Day 2Vinh Long - Sa Dec
After breakfast, the boat moves to Sa Dec. Upon arrival, time to check-out before getting on a local boat to reach Sa Dec city, the old-fashioned town, famous for its flowers and bonsai plants, and where the French Writer Marguerite Duras spent her childhood. Our trip will stop to see the ancient house of Huynh Thuy Le, the "house of the Chinese" described in Marguerite Duras' novel L'AMANT, before heading to a Chinese temple and stopping at the tomb of L'AMANT. Finally, pass-by the schoo where Margerite's mother has taught as well as the house where she used to live with her children. On the way back, we will see the lively market streets of this fancinating town. Then we return on board for enjoy the buffet lunch and spend 1 hour on foot massage and nails treatment or you can visit Sa Dec. Note: The school is closed during Tet (Vietnamese New Year festival) and other public holidays.
Day 3Cai Be - My Tho - Saigon
Our trip will move to My Tho and you are served breakfast. Upon arrival, it's time to check-out before getting on a local boat for a cruise along islets and tropical orchards. Cruise pass over the canal of Xep and reach a small island where a horse-drawn cart will wait for you. Enjoy a tour through the island and discover small villages. Stop our route to taste tropical fruits and visit a bee farm then continue on a rowboat through the narrow, tree-lined canals of the River. Visit handicraft villages, a coconut candy factory before returning on shore. Our trip ends at around 11:00. You will be picked up at My Tho and come back to Saigon by coach to finish your fantastic journey. Hope you come back soon.
